Guess Who’s Back

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

Apparently, not me. Peanut butter is delicious. On days I forget to bring breakfast or forget to get breakfast (which is most days), I eat a scoop or two of peanut butter right out of the jar. I may or may not have a 3 lb jar of Skippy’s creamy peanut butter at my desk.

Haven’t gotten much rest recently. Sucks. It’s a long story but kind of short.  For the past few weeks, I’ve woken up multiple times per night (3+), and it kind of sucks the next morning because I distinctly remember the times I got woken up. And it’s not only nightmares too. I mean, I get nightmares all the time, kind of weird, but whatever they’re enjoyable. I actually had a pretty funny one with Freddy Krueger in it the other night. Lack of sleep kind of compounds little problems…soooooo…..yeah…but it’s ok, it’s alright (I got something that you gon’ like), because I’m feeling pretty good now. I only woke up twice last night. I guess small steps for progress? Sure why not. I like how this thing marks keywords. “chicken, butter, good” When did I ever mention butter before these past two lines?

Nick/Becky’s wedding was great, had a good time at that. Not so good after when my car decided to crap out on me, but hey it happens. Time to start looking for a new one. That’s kind of a frustrating process too…

I want chicken and waffles. I kind of wish I lived down south so I could get me some, though I’ve been told there’s a place in Boston that serves that. Might go there one of these mornings. Also, if I lived down south, I could get more cajun food. I love cajun food. and a REAL shrimp po’boy. Actually, I just like food in general. Probably why I’m so fat.

I wonder what’s for lunch today. Chicken fingers, or Teriyaki Caramelized Onions Chicken burger on a wheat roll. Uhh…..CHICKEN FINGERS. Ding.

I’m going to visit Chuck sometime soon. I haven’t told him yet. I should probably tell him, like now. Ok cool, I just told him. More importantly, someone get me fried chicken.

Long Few Days…I Mean Weeks

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

So I know I have not written to much on this site lately. Been kind of busy, you know with trying to buy a house, and Nick and Becky’s wedding, and dealing with work, and trying to figure out when to pack, and trying to manage my social life, and trying to keep my head on strait. You get the idea. Point being I have not been around lately.

Nick and Becky had an amazing wedding, even though I did lose the flowers for it…..Shame on me. It was still very nicely done, and Nick and Becky make a great married couple. I wish them both the best of luck int he future when they move away like a bunch of jerks (kidding, love you guys) and they are going to have a billion happy memories. The first of which I will be in, so I guess that is a high point for me. Sophia was very well behaved for the whole thing, and was adorable in her little dress.

The house buying process is getting there. I finally have that whole messed sorted out, I have all the paperwork into the broker, and I am just waiting on the greenlight to close on the 20th of this month. In 9 days I should be a real life homeowner. WNEC sent over my transcripts this morning so I am all set there. I have to say this has been one of the hardest and longest processes I have ever been a part of, kind of crazy, and it has sucked the life right out of me. I hope I never have to do it again, but you never know, I will probably move out of that house at some point.

The rest of the family is good, they are all getting by. I hope to get down to my grandmothers house this weekend so I can take a look at her computer. I guess it is not working right. Lame. The rest is history.

On My Way!

Thursday, July 22nd, 2010

I can’t wait, almost time to start heading up to MA again for another trip to see Nick, and Becky. Plus Chruu and Diane. Really miss being up there, but hey this weekend is going to rock. Plus big news for some people coming up this weekend, but they don’t know it yet, mostly because I am lazy. Leaving tomorrow after work if anyone really cares.

Turns out the UStream Broadcaster for my phone works pretty darn well as you can tell from the live video feed. I am hoping to get a good feed from my computer at work to be constant, thought that might be cool. It was a pain in the butt to gett he darn thing to work because none of the plugins worked the way I wanted them too. O well.

I am getting married…..ha take that world

Wedding Bells!

Wednesday, July 14th, 2010

So I am about to go with Stephanie tomorrow to put down all the money we need to for the wedding. We finally have a date. September 25, 2011. This is good and bad. Good because we are finally getting married, and if the world really does end in 2012, we could at least have some time together. Ha, bad joke. Anyway bad because it gives us one year to plan for it, while trying to get moved into the house, go to like 3 other weddings, and make sure we don’t go broke. We got this.

Also Stephanie and I have been working on a new site to help people keep up to date with all of the wedding. We both thought it might be easier for a lot of people this way. Plus it will give everyone an open forum to discuss the wedding and whatnot. Really allow people to connect with one another. Check it out.

Work has been a little crazy but it happens. I guess the same is true for Chruu, he hasn’t written in a while, but when I talked to him the other day he had a lot of work to get done and he did not seem to happy about it. I feel kind of bad for him, but my programming is limited to HTML/PHP/JAVA/FLASH/C. O well, he will make it through.

On a side note I am looking to update the theme on this site soon. I like the one I have but I feel like it could be better. Honestly I might try to fix this one first. I want to make it span a little more across the screen really. I feel like there is not to much room and it is kind of a waste of space at times. Plus it would be easier for me to add videos, and pictures, and other things that i have to code to be smaller because the site is to small.

To everyone ever who told me get used to life after college, and live it up in college because it is going to be the best time in your life, they were right. College was one of the best time, and growing up is both odd and hard. Looking for a house drove me crazy, the wedding is going to drive me more crazy, and the whole time I have to continue to work and deal with crazy people on the phone.

In other news I heard the iPhone 4 is going to possibly be recalled. While I always have a bad taste in my mouth for apple, the iPhone really did have its issues. I find it funny if you held it ‘wrong’ it would not work. I know this issue with the iPhone was beaten like a dead horse so I wont go to far into it. Go Droid!

WOW! THATS A LOW PRICE

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010

I saw a bunch of those commercials recently so that is all I can think of. I hate that guy, mostly because he probably made some real good money off of that stupid gimmick and I don’t get any cut of it. O well, I will have to figure out something else to make money quick.

Anyway I have been away for a while dealing with crazy house things, wedding craziness, other peoples wedding craziness, and the heat. For those who don’t live in CT it has been like in the upper nineties for the last few days. Kind of stinks but whatever. I am trying to get by it all.

I did get my new motor in to turn the bike into a moped, but since I bought a house and everything, I have put those plans on hold since money is kind of tight right now. I hope it works out well though since Stephanie and I can use it to go short distances without having to waste a car trip. She can visit her parents and I can tool around and look like a tool. I just get nervous because people suck at driving. Case and point below…

And just for kicks I thought I might throw this video in there as well, it makes me laugh…

That reall about does it for now, Stephanie and I are working on a new site that we hope to have up on the internet soon, mostly because we need to iron out a few things first before people see the site and start to comment on it. Plus we need to make sure the site works 100%.

Trip Time

Tuesday, June 15th, 2010

Can’t wait. Leaving after work on Friday to start heading up to Leominster MA. I know there is nothing really out there, but my buddy Nick is getting married so I have to go drink and buy a suit or something.Watermelon colored tie, hell yes!

Also to Becky. I am really sorry to hear about your loss. I am sure he was a great man.

My Crazy Awesome Return

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010

Wow, I honestly feel like I have been away for a long time. I thought I might come on and write about a few things, inform the people what is going on, you know, same old same old as I always do.

First thing is first, work has been a nightmare the past few weeks, there is a boat load of things to do, and customers are wicked pissed off, I have this one that I have been working with, I won’t say to much seeming this is the Internets, and I know it is not that hard to Google Chuck Lindblom and find me. So I won’t tell you to much about it, just that it has been super crazy. I am glad it all finished up though. Gives me more time to deal with important matters.

Which leads me right into my next point. I know a lot of you ‘knew’ it was coming, and I also know a lot of you said I would never do it, but I am finally engaged to my Lovely Fiancee Stephanie. You can see the picture of the two of us on our New York trip below. Two weeks ago to this day I took her out to a nice dinner, we talked for a long time, just really relaxed. I took her back to her place, got down on one knee, and did the deed. Needless to say she accepted, so there you have it, I am no longer a single guy. Thanks to everyone who congratulated us on the engagement, we are both extremely happy and excited to see what is around the corner.

StephandI

Stephanie and I

I found out today that my Father passed the Telecommunication Test that he had to take for his Job, so Congratulations Dad, knew you could do it!

This weekend is going to be another trip up to Nick’s neck of the woods to see what is good up there. I haven’t seen him in a while, and really this is all about going to see the baby, maybe cracking open a few beers and relaxing. Maybe bring up some good food and have a giant feast. I am looking forward to it, got a nice room at the Super 8, you know, I keep it classy. So I will have to write up about that in the near future.

I have been in the market for an apartment, and we shopped around for a little bit with the help of a Realtor that was a family friend. Found one we really liked, got it, and then called and turned it down because we have decided to go with a house. I know it is a bigger step but hey, the market is so bad we might as well, in five years or so we can sell it for a killing. So we figure in a few years we can sell it and buy a nice awesome house that we can enjoy, settle down, and start a family.

I have a meeting with the broker tomorrow night to find out how much we can afford and then we can meet with my new Realtor to see what is out there in the market. Hopefully we can find something good. I found a few houses hat I like, some of them look like someone beat me to the offer. I will have to see. I am sure in the end I will find what I want.

Important Thoughts

Monday, May 3rd, 2010

So I had some important thoughts that I really wanted to get down onto this blog before I forgot. The first is my car. I purchased an automatic car starter for it, and while it has it short comings, I am loving it. In case people forgot I bought a nice new 2010 Nissan Sentra, love it. Good car to start with.

I also want to give a shout out to ITonMain. A site a buddy of mine is now running, talking about some great tech news and life in the SMB. Keep it up Brian!

Chruu is back from vacation, so hopefully he will post some good news about that.

There is a lot of other good things going on right now, I am just wishing that they all pan out and in the end everyone is happy, more on that to come though.

Video Game Nazis v. The Rest Of The World

Friday, April 23rd, 2010

Ok, this has been eating away at me for a while. As many of you know there has always been a fight between the video game industry and people who claim that it leads to violence and crime. They raise a few points every time that they feel we can’t fight back against. So please watch he video below, and then read what I have to say about it.

One of the biggest arguments against video games is that they lead to violence and they influence kids. I am just going to come right out and say this. Parents need to monitor what your kids are doing, the idea is not to fuck, pop this spawn out of you and ignore it for 18 years until you both come to some kind of understanding. This is why the world is failing by the way, we are populated by frigin morons who don’t know anything, and feel like they can get away with anything. New Jersey is the best example I have. If you think that Call Of Duty 4 is a bad game, here it come….DON’T LET YOUR CHILD PLAY IT! I don’t see why this is so hard. I guess we forgot the fact that we have to parent our own children. Good god, you people are lazy.

Another argument that was brought up int he film was that movies are just as bad, and the rebuttal was that people are not addicted to movies. I would like to pint out things like Pirates of the Caribbean. You have people that are going to see that movie like 5 times a day for the life the movie is in the theater. They dress like Jack Sparrow. Give me a break that people are not addicted to movies. Have they not seen people who really like Rocky Horror? The way they dress for the midnight viewing? That is strait up, grade-a BULLSHIT!

The same people who say these things probably also don’t know that there are games like guitar hero and wii-fit which can promote hand to eye coordination as well as learning, and have been used to help the elderly be able to move or to rehabilitate people. Not every video game is “bad for you”. They have learning games for children, ever hear of a company called leapster? They take our child’s favorite characters and have them learn with Winnie the pooh, or spell with Spiderman.

The icing on this shit cake, the real deal here is that these experts are just a different version of the half naked old guy on his front porch yelling at kids to get off his lawn. I don’t see how they are experts, they just bitch and moan the whole time with the same argument. No matter what we say or how people try to fight back they will come across with something like this, “There is no way to stop violent games from coming into a house, children are addicting and when they play these games they lose a sense of reality which forces them to kill their mother, rape their dog, and murder the dairy queen employees to score $20 to buy some coke.” I id you not, this is the verbal diarrhea that they spew from their mouths.

Did they forget to mention a lot of these crimes that are committed are in places that already have a high level of street crime, the children come from some sort of broken home, or have a pre-diagnosed mental illness. It all leads us right back to the fact that the lazy ass parents are out stripping and doing drugs for a living while they kid is raised by an Xbox or PS3. I know I might be thinking to out of the box here, but kick your kids outside away from the TV, turn off your cell, and bring them to the park to play! Spend some time as a family unit.

I think MGMT did a fine job of putting that point into music and a video, aka a music video scene below.

I really want to hear back from you this time because I am so tired of listening to this garbage that these anti-videogame groups are coming out with. Let me know how you feel!

And The Mac Attack Continues

Monday, April 19th, 2010

So I was reading an interesting article just now that can be found here. I found it kind of interested, because really they are putting Android inside of everything. So I was thinking of two things. 1. I really want that Android tablet, which I will explain why in a little bit. 2. I was thinking of other gadgets and such that could use a little android power.

When I saw the tablet all I could think of it that this is going to be just as bad as the apple iPad. I mean really who comes out with a brick like that, there is only a port to plug it in for power and such, no USB, no anything else. What a waste of my time really, I mean I think Steve jobs is losing his touch. Whatever dumb idea who thinks up on the crapper is made, and the 1 Million apple fans ignore the rest of the world and buy it without thinking, why….because its apple. While I still don’t know all the details I don’t think this tablet is going to be that bad, and it will be another way for me to laugh at people with an iPhone or an iPad.

I have heard people say that the Android marketplace is limited compared to what the apple apps store has, there is a very good reason behind this. People need time to make the apps, seeming that android is open source, it is a whole hell of a  lot easier to program. The best part is the apps work on a boat load of different products, not just three. The way I see it is the iPod touch is an iPhone with no phone built in…..the iPad is an iPhone that took a bunch of growth hormones. Android has multiple different products, and more to come.

With this tablet I will be able to run multiple applications at once, unlike apple, and actually get some work done. I can browse the net, while listening to Pandora Radio, and downloading programs in the background. What more could I want in a simple low weight, basic tablet. I don’t need all the bells and whistles, nor do I need the huge price tag because Steve Jobs needs a golden crapper.

For you enjoyment I give you a video from MadTV that I think really shows what he must be like.

I was also thinking of a few things that android could be placed into. Note that some of these might already be in the works.

1. A car. Simple idea, but you get GPS, and a load of other apps that can run and are designed for people of the road.

2. GPS. I know that the android platform has Google maps that has built in GPS, but for someone that does not want a car with it, or have a phone with Android, they can use it to get directions, find gas stations, or a hotel.

3. Toilet. Yeah, you heard me.
